John Jewell (President Emeritus) and wife, Linda, began John Jewell
Aircraft as known today in 1977 as a one-man, custom rebuild facility and
has overhauled and repaired thousands of engines through his facility.
John received the prestigious Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award in
2016 for his 50+ years in the Aviation Industry. This FAA award recognizes
the lifetime accomplishments of senior aviation mechanics.

Linda Jewell (Sec-Treas Emeritus) founded John Jewell Aircraft with
her husband, John, in 1977. For over 20 years, Linda prepared customer
records, logbook entries, billing, inventory control, engine quotes and
customer service. John Jewell Aircraft’s strength is in Linda’s continued
service as a highly valued administrative advisor.

Charlotte Saunders (President) has been full-time with John Jewell
Aircraft, Inc for over 35 years. As a certificated A&P mechanic, she is
part of the second-generation aviation in the John Jewell Aircraft family
tradition. Charlotte handles engine services, sales and support and
provides domestic and international Supplemental Type Certificate
sales and service for the John Jewell Aircraft C182-legacy, C210 and
T210 models.

Randy Saunders (Vice President) has been with John Jewell Aircraft
for over 30 years, serving in multiple capacities from non-destructive
testing, inspection, disassembly, engine installation and test-run to
engine re-assembly.

A.D. is a valued cylinder guru for John Jewell Aircraft. A.D. has been a
critical asset for providing custom cylinder overhaul and repair for John
Jewell Aircraft for over 30 years. Prior to his time at JJA, A.D. provided
25+ years general aviation maintenance services for the Ag Aviation
Industry. A.D. is known for his expertise and eye to detail in cylinder
overhaul and repair.

Wesley comes to us with an AAS in Precision Manufacturing &
Machining Technology from Northwest Mississippi Community College
with experience in medical machining, and a BAS in Operations
Management Engineering and General Business from Mississippi State
University. Wesley grew up working with airframe and engine
maintenance in the General Aviation Piston Engine Field. John Jewell
Aircraft, Inc., welcomes its third generation of custom engine
rebuilding.

1977: John & Linda Jewell began an engine overhaul business in Arlington, Tennessee under the name of Jewell Aircraft Engine Overhaul; and incorporated in 1978.
1980: Jewell Aircraft Engine Overhaul Inc. was named Teledyne Continental Motors Distributor & Service Center.
1983: Jewell Aircraft Engine Overhaul relocated operations to Holly Springs, Mississippi. Jewell Aircraft Engine Overhaul expanded services to include airframe repair, annual inspections, flight training and the name was changed to Jewell Aircraft, Inc.
1985: Jewell Aircraft, Inc. expanded its parts distribution to include Textron Lycoming, Rapco, McCreary, and many others. Jewell Aircraft expanded to include parts distribution to the Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas & Louisiana region.
1991: John Jewell Aircraft, Inc. was added and named an FAA Authorized Repair Station. Cylinder Repair was added initially to the Repair Station, and Airframe was added approximately one year later.
2000: John Jewell Aircraft, Inc. expanded its operations to include C182 & C210 STC's.
2006: John Jewell Aircraft, Inc. was named Authorized Cessna Service Center.

2007: 30 Years!... May 19, 2007, John Jewell Aircraft celebrated 30 years in business. FAA recognized John Jewell Aircraft by presenting John and Linda Jewell "Outstanding Service Award for 30 Years of Superior Contribution to Aviation Safety."

2016: May 2, 2016, the Federal Aviation Administration presented John Jewell with The Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award for over 50 years of aviation service excellence.

2024: August 1, 2024: In 1977, John and Linda Jewell began an aviation legacy that would eventually serve the aviation industry for almost 5 decades. Daughter Charlotte Jewell Saunders, along with son-in-law, Randy Saunders are proud and humbled to receive that torch and continue John Jewell Aircraft into its third generation, providing custom, quality services to the General Aviation Industry.
